Feeling that WhatsApp is not open and messages are being sent to others
Cyber experts warn that if you unknowingly click on the links on WhatsApp, there is a threat. It is said that the recent incident in Nizamabad district is an example of this. In Sompelli village of Sirikonda mandal in the district, around ten WhatsApp accounts have been hacked and messages are being sent by unknown persons. Recently some people forwarded the link of PM Kisan app in the WhatsApp group of villagers. It is known that the central government has announced that the PM Kisan funds will be deposited in the farmers’ accounts on 18th of this month.
It is in this background that the latest link is doing the rounds in WhatsApp groups. Farmers are clicking this link with the intention of getting PM Kisan money in their account. The victims complained that WhatsApp did not work on their phones after a while. Moreover, they expressed their concern that the messages are going to someone in their name, as they have sent them. After the WhatsApp accounts of ten people were hacked in Sompelli village, the victims approached the police.
Cybercrime DSP Haseed Ullah was contacted by the media regarding this matter. If you get any link in the name of PM Kisan app, you are warned not to open it. In case of cyber fraud, complain immediately through 1930 toll free number.
